The best advice that I can give you is to find a mentor who can guide you through this journey. The one that can tell you when you are doing something wrong, how to improve it and how to develop independent thinking.

The Intelligent Investor

Benjamin Graham

The author of this book is the famous investor Benjamin Graham, also known for being a Warren Buffett teacher. This book is all about value investing. A whole program that Benjamin Graham taught at Columbia Business School back in the day. He was not only a professor but one of the most successful investors of all time with an average of 21% annual return over 20 years.
It is not an easy read, since it is over 600 pages long, but you will have all the information needed if you define yourself as a value investor.

Curtis Faith

Another great book, the author is Curtis Faith. He is one of the people that took part in the so-called “Turtle Experiment”. In 1983, Richard Dennis and William Eckhardt (legendary commodity traders) made this study. With that experiment, they wanted to prove that anyone can become a successful trader. Curtis Faith was one of the turtles.
In this book, he shares what was to be part of this experiment and he shares what they used as a strategy. Every trader that was part of the experiment received 1 million dollars in real money and rules to follow without a question. The turtles generated $175 million in only five years which makes them part of the best traders in the world.
This is a great read for people that see themselves as trend followers and they want to learn a little bit more about futures trading.

Larry Williams

The author of this book is the legend himself - Larry Williams. He is famous for turning $10 000 into over $1 Million in 12 months. He is the "1987 World Cup Championship of Futures Trading" winner with a huge margin over the other traders in the same competition.
In his book, he shares his first steps into trading and how he managed to make over 10 000% returns in a single year. But the most important part of the book is that he shares strategies that he uses and used through the years to make these incredible returns.
This book is for people that want to build a robust trading system, where you have clear entry and exit points. You will learn exactly where your stop loss should be and how much capital you should allocate in a single trade.

Jack D. Schwager

Last but not least is this book written by Jack D. Schwager. This book is a must-read if you want to take trading and investing seriously. In this book, you will find different stories of the most successful traders and investors through the years.
Even though there are no specific insights about strategies, there is something far more valuable. And this is the story of their journey in trading. You can read about their struggles and how they overcame them.
If you are at the beginning of your trading career I am sure that you are not going to have an interest in topics like this. But learning from the mistakes of the best traders is something that you cannot find anywhere else.
